9 – 10 October 2022

In October 2022, Little Amal was invited to Amsterdam by Bloomberg CityLab, the preeminent global cities summit organised by Bloomberg Philanthropies in partnership with the Aspen Institute.

The summit brings together global mayors, innovators, leaders, experts, artists and activities to discuss many of the most pressing issues we face including pandemic recovery, to welcoming refugees, global conflicts and combatting climate change.

After meeting city Mayors on Sunday 9 October, Little Amal walked with them through central Amsterdam on Monday 10 October, joined by local school children from the Amsterdam International Community School (AICS), with music by the Dutch-Caribbean drumband KalentuRa Drums and the gypsy & klezmer ensemble Balcony Players.

Amal finished her walk at Anne Frank House and Anne Frank Memorial where she was gifted a copy of Anne Frank’s diary and listened to a performance by Syrian musician Jawa Manla.
