“One Step Forward”
An Interactive Exhibition of Children’s Works created for Amal.

The Exhibition of art works created through the Walk’s Education Program in Greece is running now at the Children’s Museum in Athens. Creative workshops will take place exploring little Amal’s journey from many different aspects, offering children a chance to meet her even from afar. (October-December 2021).

The educational program “One Step Forward” started its activities in January 2021and is still running in parallel with the Walk’s events. Inspired by the story of Little Amal, children and young adults from all over Greece prepared exceptional creations consisting of words, puppets, photographs, constructions, drawings, designs and videos as a creative welcoming act.

Before, after and during her journey, little Amal brings young people together through creative learning projects, helping them build lifelong friendships with each other.

In Greece, the works from all the educational programs are presented in three exhibitions, starting from August 21 at the D. Hatzis Cultural Venue in Ioannina (August 2021), the Leonidas Kanellopoulos Cultural Center in Elefsina – European Capital of Culture 2023 (September 2021) and the Children’s Museum in Athens (September-December 2021).

The workshops were conducted by Unima Hellas, the Αthens Comics Library, NGO AMAKA, Laikart Group, mind the fact and Spyros Aggelopoulos in collaboration with the Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network in association with and the support of UNHCR Greece through the project “it could be me – it could be you”.
